PoE Tablet: Power and Data over a Single Ethernet Cable

Tablet PoE: Zasilanie i transmisja danych jednym kablem Ethernet

What Is PoE Technology?

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology enables both power supply and data transmission through a single Ethernet cable. This allows devices to receive power and network connectivity over one cable, eliminating the need for a separate power supply.

PoE Touchscreen

A PoE Touchscreen is an innovative device that combines the functionality of a conventional touchscreen panel with Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology. By delivering both power and data over a single Ethernet cable, it reduces cabling requirements, improves system reliability, and simplifies installation.

Key Benefits of a PoE Touchscreen

  • Stable and reliable network connectivity – a wired Ethernet connection provides higher transmission speeds, enhanced cybersecurity, and greater operational reliability compared to wireless communication.
  • Flexible installation – PoE technology allows the touchscreen to be installed up to 100 metres from the network switch without requiring a separate power supply.
  • Power and data over a single cable – no dedicated electrical outlet is required at the installation location.
  • Enhanced safety – PoE operates using low-voltage DC power, reducing the risk of electrical overloads and installation-related faults.
  • Remote management – enables remote monitoring, diagnostics, configuration, and control of connected devices, simplifying maintenance and network management.

Applications

PoE Touchscreens are used to monitor, visualise, and control Air Handling Unit (AHU) operation through an intuitive graphical user interface.

The touchscreen provides real-time information on the operating status of the AHU and its individual components, including:

  • supply and extract fans,
  • heating coils,
  • cooling coils,
  • heat recovery systems,
  • temperature and humidity values across individual AHU sections.

The interface also enables users to:

  • change operating modes,
  • review historical operating data and alarm logs,
  • monitor system performance,
  • intuitively control the entire HVAC temperature control system through a dedicated user interface.
